Stage 1: Beginning Stages
To provide some background details on this project, it was completed in 2025 for a local landscaping business here in the Kansas City area. In essence, the project involved modifying an existing truck bed with a few changes, including the installation of a Mulch Mate system on the back. For those unfamiliar with the Mulch Mate brand, their units are designed for landscaping companies and intended to streamline the on-site operations process. At this stage in the project, you’ll see an empty slate where their truck was at our shop and ready for some work!
Stage 2: Walls are Up
The next stage in this project involved the installation of aluminum sidewalls. Given that this truck will be used for hauling (and dispensing) material, this is obviously the perfect starting point.
Stage 3: Support Structure
Once the walls were completed, the next part that we tackled was the stainless steel support structure that would act as a connection point between the truck and Mulch Mate unit.
Stage 4: Mulch Mate Installation
And that leads us into the main piece in this project: installing the Mulch Mate system! As you can tell from these photos, it fit perfectly and this truck is ready to head back into the field. At this stage, we also added on new aluminum doors, which are key for the customer to have direct access to the truck bed.
