Construction of Baldacchino.
In the Catholic Church, a baldacchino is a canopy-like structure installed over the altar. As seen in the photos, the one we installed here includes several components (both for structural and stylistic purposes).
While everything above the 2x4's was existing, we were tasked with creating and installing the sections below the wood. In particular, the designs on the panels were programmed and cut via waterjet technology on 1/4" aluminum. To allow for leveling, the 2x4's referenced above were slotted 1" deep. With 3/8" all thread run through the middle of 2" aluminum pipes, extra support would be solidified.
In the end, the finished product definitely adds an aesthetic boost to the area and highlights the altar underneath.
