Tile Accent Pieces.
A major renovation project that wrapped up in 2023 at St. Patrick's Parish involved upgrades made to the center aisle. For this one, our team was tasked with using 5-axis waterjet technology to cut accent pieces out of ceramic floor tile. The reason why we opted to utilize this waterjet machine was to ensure there was no flaking or chipping of the tiles in the fabrication process. At the same time, we made sure there was space for a consistent 3/16” grout line for the tile installation at St. Patrick’s.
The accent pieces featured below were all cut from ¼” thick tile. At the same time, it’s also worth noting the importance of using contrasting colors in order for them to stand out from the surrounding area. In the center aisle, there were four different tile cut-outs - the dove, a cross, a chalice, and the name of the church and founding year.
