Available Cutting Styles

Plasma Cutting

Did you know plasma cutting has been around since the 1950's? With the ability to cut aluminum, stainless steel, copper and plenty other materials, it's no surprise why it has lasted for so long. In comparison to its waterjet alternative, the biggest benefit from using plasma is tied to it being a more economical option. In the instance that perfect accuracy isn't needed, then plasma cutting can be completed at roughly half the cost. Generally speaking, the plasma cutter can be used to cut a max of 2" thick metals.

Five-Axis Waterjet Cutting

Looking for the best of the best when it comes to cutting capabilities? If so, then you're likely searching for multi-axis waterjet cutting. Here at Wil-Clair Sheet Metal, our team currently uses the Omax Maxiem 1530 JetMachining Center. Even though waterjet cutting has been around for quite some time and you'll see a variety of different machines around town, it's safe to say the precision and speed permitted from the Maxiem 1530 are second to none. Furthermore, with the five-axis cutting head, our team is able to utilize a cutting range of 0° to 60°. This helps provide the opportunity to easily cut beveled edges, angled sides and countersinks. In terms of thickness, we're able to cut up to 4" thick material.

Ever since it arrived at our shop, the five-axis waterjet machine has quickly become a service that many of our clients request. With the ability to cut much quicker and at improved accuracy levels, we're able to shorten the production timeline, while still guaranteeing quality. Bending, Rolling and Forming Metal.

Yet another important component in the overall fabrication process is the press brake. At Wil-Clair Sheet Metal, we operate both a Mechanical Press Brake and a Hydraulic Press Brake. Pictured above is our hydraulic press brake, which is certainly the more advanced model of the two. The actual purpose of a press brake is fairly straightforward, as it is designed to bend metal. With the hydraulic press brake, our team is able to operate at a variety of different speed changes and greater overall precision. While every project is certainly unique, your friends at Wil-Clair are always here to help you decide which is the most cost-efficient move for your project. Just as bending metal is an invaluable trait for any sheet metal shop, so is the ability to roll plates. With this digital 4-roller, our craftsman are able to roll sheets of metal at accuracy levels unattainable by other rolling machines. The digital read-out's on each roll enables us to roll each piece identical to the original. In comparison to a 3-roller, the 4-roll concept also permits the ability to roll in or out without removing the material from the roller. This digital 4-roller can roll anywhere from 26 gauge to 3/4" plate.

Our Projects.

Certified Welding.

There's no doubt that welding is an integral part of nearly every sheet metal shop. The ability to utilize heat to sculpt and join metals together is a vital component in the fabrication process. All of our team members have completed extensive training through the local union and possess all of the necessary certifications. In addition to this training, we're proud to employ welders with years of experience and the acumen to handle any welding project. No matter what the size of the project may be, we handle them all with precision and accuracy.
